Four and Two Year Planning Sessions

The ASTI counselor holds Family Information College Nights for each grade level during the fall semester.  Those nights provide important information related to high school graduation and four year college planning, including:

• Meeting A-G requirements, IGETC requirements, and Associate’s Degree requirements
• Financial aid
• Admission to the University of California and California State University systems
• Preparing college applications 
• Transitioning from ASTI classes to registering for and taking coursework at the College of Alameda

Student and family attendance at the Family Information Nights each fall is crucial to understanding a student’s progress toward high school graduation and postsecondary goals.  We ask that all students and families prioritize attendance at these events.

Each 10^th grader will receive intensive Peralta course planning support during the spring of 10^th grade.  Course planning involves classroom presentations and workshops with the support of the ASTI counselor and upper class  students. 

In the spring, sophomore counseling appointments will be held with each sophomore student, their parent(s)/guardian(s), and the ASTI counselor.  ASTI’s office manager will call families in the spring to schedule these appointments.
